Case Study - The RHS Experience at Chelsea Flower Show 2025
The Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) first approached Solutions2 to deliver their RHS Experience stand, a central feature within the Grand Pavilion at Chelsea Flower Show, in 2025. They wanted to create a premium, experience-led space which told the story of RHS in a modern, light-filled and sustainable way.
The Stand
The RHS Experience brief called for an area that encouraged natural visitor flow across four key content zones, elevated the plant displays as heroes and delivered a structure capable of being reused.
KPIs included:
- Design for multi-year reuse
- Full wheelchair accessibility
- Efficient delivery on tight timelines
- High visual and experiential impact
- Present information in a clear, succinct way
- Tell a story that flows in a modern, innovative way
- A premium look with sustainable materials and modular elements
We designed a 196m2 area based on flow, openness, sustainability and elegance, incorporating curves, natural timber slats, modular planters and seamless transition between zones.
The Results
“Solutions2’s design was the standout from the start… absolutely stunning - fresh, light and airy.”
Curves, slats, light and the illusion of movement
Curved walling made from vertical wooden slats evoked light filtering through trees. Structural choices not only improved the stand’s flow but also drew visitors in to explore. The central wheelchair-accessible ‘river’ gave a natural flow through the stand, reducing bottlenecks, encouraging visitor movement and bringing the feel of nature into the marquee.
“At the show, the stand looked slick, modern and bright. It was a real talking point within the Great Pavilion. It brought together all the elements we hoped for and more.”
Reuseable solutions to create zoning with full accessibility
Each of the four individual content zones (RHS Plant of the Year, Sustainable Product of the Year, Gardening Advice, and Future RHS Information) were built utilising modular build elements. Circular plinths in varying heights displayed the shortlisted ‘plants of the year’, maintaining visual interest and enabling accessibility. Each area was individually designed to be distinct but made from the same materials so that elements can be interchanged in the future.
“…a beautiful layout, thoughtful planting displays that gave the whole area real energy and practical touches, which were hugely appreciated. All of the key areas felt cohesive and well-considered.”
Sustainable build
The build utilised FSC-certified timber, our recycled timber stock panels and recyclable finishes into the stand - all part of our broader mission to hit NetZero by 2040 and remain ESSA Tier 5 Sustainability certified. The project incorporated a reusable floor system, modular planters designed for full reuse and fully recyclable banner and graphics.
“Solutions2 fully delivered visually, practically, and environmentally.”
